Clinic Appointments
During your appointment you will be offered an ear and hearing health check which involves the following services.
Ear Examination: A high-definition digital otoscopy will be used to capture HD image and video of your ears.
Wax Removal: Micro suction wax removal (the industry gold standard). Micro suction is the gold standard of wax removal and is considered safer than other methods such as irrigation.
Hearing Test: once wax has been removed a hearing screening can be performed. This will identify whether you have a level of hearing loss. If you do have a hearing loss, we may refer you to an audiologist for further investigation. However, in many cases, the initial problem could’ve simply been down to the presence of wax itself.
All patient images and video are stored in our secure cloud, making it easy for us to keep track of your ear and hearing health record. This can be quickly and easily shared, via a professional PDF, with ENT surgeons, audiologists or GPs, should you need onward specialist treatment. Our “Remote Review” feature allows access to remote advice and guidance from Audiologists and ENT specialist surgeons, if a second opinion is required, ensuring that you receive the most appropriate advice at the time.
Fees
Ear Examination, Ear Wax Removal and Hearing Test (if required)- £60 (for both ears)or £45 (for one ear)
Ear Examination and Hearing Test (if required) - £30 (Charged when no wax removal is required)
Prior to your Appointment - It is essential that prior to your appointment, Earol® or another olive oil based spray is used in BOTH ears, for a minimum of 5 days before your appointment. An olive oil based spray will help soften the wax, making it easier to remove. If wax cannot be removed due to it being too hard or adhering to the ear drum, a further appointment will have to be made, incurring an additional appointment fee. Although we will endeavour to remove as much wax as we can and in the majority of cases this is done successfully, every person is different and we cannot make any guarantees that all wax will be removed in one session.
Cancellations and Missed Appointments
We operate a cancellation policy which covers both missed and short notice cancellations (less than 48 hours notice). This cancellation fee will be the full appointment fee and must be paid within 7 days of the missed appointment.
Appointments booked via our online booking system require a £30 deposit which will be deducted from the total cost following your appointment. Missed or short notice cancellations (less than 48 hours) of appointments booked online will not be refunded.
