Please soften the wax in the 5 days before your appointment

It's important that the wax is soft to make the procedure as comfortable and effective as possible.

We recommend using medicated olive oil drops, or an olive oil spray such as Earol, twice per day in BOTH ears. Repeat for 5 days.

The reason we suggest both ears, even if you feel that you only have wax in one ear, is that if during your appointment, the other ear requires microsuction, this may not be possible if it has not been prepared with oil prior to the appointment. This could potentially mean another appointment and further cost to yourself.

If you suspect you have a perforated eardrum, do not put any wax softening solution in your ears. In this instance, we advise you seek help from your GP.
